Like two sunbirds, they flew into our podcast studio and filled it with spices, flavors, stories, colors and a magical book and box. Alaa and Victoria have created a children book in Palestine that received the 2024 award in IBBY’s honour list, as best author.
We also get to learn more about the fantastic Tamer Institute and what it does for children and young people. It was founded to give children access to books and alternative learning as children’s and young people’s schooling, leisure time and lives suffered from the troubles in the area. They were the laureates of the 2009 ALMA Prize.
Alaa and Victoria manage Alaa’s father’s, Adel’s, theatrical heritage and create the wonder box as a magical movable theater that children can help create and perform themselves. This episode is something very special.
